Project Overview

We were contacted by the client, who was a Centra store owner with a portfolio of 12 locations. The customer wanted a fully integrated automated entrance solution. The new store was a redevelopment of a former library, presenting structural and aesthetic challenges.

The Challenge

The project involved repurposing an old public building into a modern convenience store. The key concerns were:

  • Securing the premises in a high-footfall, urban area
  • Ensuring accessibility and customer flow compliance
  • Adhering to fire safety regulations
  • Preserving the existing architectural structure while upgrading functionality
  • Add in retention of heat i.e. draught lobby – allowing easy access while minimising the time door left open
